To the Arkansas, Nevada and Oklahoma
Nonprofit Community
The Donald
W. Reynolds Foundation is pleased to announce important changes in its
Capital Grants and Planning and Technical Assistance Grants Programs,
effective
February 1, 2006.
Key changes include:
-
The Planning and Technical Assistance Grants Program has been
integrated into the Capital Grants Program, which now requires that capital grant applicants
either successfully complete a Planning Grant or meet strict
planning standards prior to applying for a capital grant. We
believe that appropriate planning generally is needed to strengthen
the organizational capacity of a nonprofit to carry out a capital
project.
-
A
small number of Planning Grants will be awarded each year on a
highly selective basis to outstanding community-based nonprofit
organizations in Arkansas, Nevada or Oklahoma that are planning
capital projects determined to be of possible interest by the
Foundation’s Trustees.
-
The non-competitive application process under the new Capital Grants
Program is initiated by a letter of inquiry, which may be submitted
at any time. In most cases, the process requires progressing
through four successive stages: (1) letter of inquiry and initial
review, (2) Planning Grant application, (3) Planning Grant
implementation and assessment and (4) Capital Grant application.
Advancement to each successive stage depends on successful
completion of the preceding stage. The process may span a period of
as much as three years.
We will be
pleased to answer any questions you may have about these changes.
